Employee representation

An agreement on the Group Works Council

 Objectives

Restate and strengthen the role of the Group Works Council.

Standpoint
  • In France and in other countries, all employees working on industrial sites, services sites or major sales network sites are represented by independent trade unions or by elected personnel representatives.
  • Since 1996, employees across Europe have been represented by the Group Works Council, which serves as the primary forum for dialogue and discussion with employee representatives concerning the Group’s business, financial and employee relations strategy, performance and outlook, as well as the major transformations underway at subsidiaries in the European Union.

 Prospects

  • PSA Peugeot Citroën, the European Metalworkers' Federation (EMF), the European Federation of Managers and the six trade unions present within the Group signed a further agreement on the European Group Works Council in 2003. In addition to increasing its resources and preparing for the 2004 EU expansion, the agreement introduced rules on the distribution of seats by country, in order to adapt the structure of the Works Council to Group presence in Europe.
  • It remains constantly involved in the contractual agreement process, in particular through application of the Global Framework Agreement on Social Responsibility.
